Friday Flea-ing

Sometimes, just sometimes, you get the sudden urge to find more treasures even though you have SO MANY you could fill two houses with. But . . . . I woke up this morning with daughter gone for the day, two boys fairly self sufficient, husband at work and me feeling like playing hookey from work. So, the story begins. . . .
I felt like I couldn’t go too far in case of an emergency, so I scavenged the local antique malls. I hardly ever go locally because I swear I never find anything. But today, VOILA – not much but I love everything I bought today. I think the two vintage 1978 perfume bottles are so gorgeous! I just love the graphics of the roses on the bottles. I think I’ll probably list the vintage enamel pin – I’ve never found one so pretty. The other rhinestone pins will probably stay with me and be used for embellishment on a sachet or tote.
The stunning vintage chintz sewing box will become a part of my collection – one of my great weaknesses.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend – Many blessings and many fun times with family, working on your house or just lazing around. Big hugs – Wendy
A thing for black polka dots . . . .
As I was going thru some of my stored “stash” I came across these beautiful dresden quilt blocks I had purchased quite some time ago. I took one and made a 20″ x 20″ pillow sham with it and paired it with black polka dots. I think it frames it beautifully. Of course, since I had the polka dots out, I had to make a stocking in non-traditional colors for Christmas. The rest of the quilt blocks, I think I’ll list on etsy. The colors really took me out of my “shabby chic” range, but I had a lot of fun!
Some pretty finds
On the way home from work, I stopped at a sale. . . I didn’t find much, but what I did find I’m just in LOVE with. How pretty in this vintage handpainted and mirrored tissue box? I also found a vintage roses apron, strawberry vintage tablecloth, some pretty little flowers and a set of sweet painted baskets. I’m thinking I may keep the baskets for myself for Christmas. So pretty with pink pointsettias, huh?
Talk to you soon ~ Wendy
Just a few new things. . .
Just updating all three stores, Whew! and a view of my garden. Just in case no one knows, I have three different sites. . . . http://BerryLane.com , http://CottageBubbles.Etsy.com , http://BerryLane.Etsy.com . I never know where I’ll list items, so if you’re ever interested, please check all three. As always, I’m always willing to combine shipping between them all! O.k. ~ that’s my plug for tonight!
Can you believe, these roses are just from last year? They’ve probably tripled in size since last year. I forget what they’re called. . . Miracle roses, Double Blooming somethings. . . anyone know the right name?
Big hugs, Wendy
Just wanted to show you a few things . . . .
Hey, everyone! I just wanted to show you all my workspace. I know it’s nothing grand and I’ve yet to decorate the outside, but it’s where I work. Since these pictures, I’ve added a 10 foot countertop on the other side of all the fabrics. Sometimes, I think it’s fun to see people’s work spaces. I’ll post more pictures once I “shabby chic” up the outside of the building! Big hugs to all ~ Wendy
Weekend Post
Unbelievably, it’s my twin niece and newphew’s 8th birthday! Goodness, I just wonder where the time goes. They each wanted legos – not kits – mind you, but just boxes of legos to create their “own” designs. I just love that . . . wanting to make items from their original plan. God bless them and I can’t wait to see what they can make! Check back soon!
Lots of love, Wendy
